Friendly – Away to Halse United

Halse United FC 1 4 WWFC - Hurricanes
7th September
The Grange, Halse, Brackley, NN13 6DY
Friendly

A trip to Northamptonshire for an evening friendly.

Hurricanes started brightly, Louie stinging the palms of the home GK with a long range shot, he then pushed a shot wide from Joe. Hurricanes early pressure soon paid off a ball from Alex was fumbled by the home GK, Louie as ever on hand to pick up the loose ball and take round the stranded ‘keeper to smash home from close range 0-1.

Halse were enjoying a bit of midfield possession, but the Hurricanes defence  were organised and snuffed out any threat. Alex delivered another ball in to box, right in the danger area, it bounced across the area, Louie stealing in to nod past the ‘keeper 0-2. They quickly trebled their lead, Benji slotted in down the left edge of the box, drove towards goal, and with Louie available square, and the keeper expecting the ball to be delivered to him, Benji saw the gap at the near post and calmly side footed in 0-3.

HT 0-3

An easy half time team talk, switch of formation, but just keep doing the same things.

Halse came out full of running, testing Hayden early, but he was equal to the shot diving away to his left to palm away. A couple of powerful shots from Halse going just over. The home side got a reward for their efforts with a well worked goal 1-3. Louie probably should have done a little better, found by Benji centre of goal, the ball slightly behind him his shot went straight at home’keeper. He soon made up for it, picking the ball up and running at the home defence he rifled a shot in to top left hand corner 1-4. With the light fading quickly and the result not in doubt, the last stages of the game, were played out without any threat to either goal.

FT 1-4

Scorers: Louie (3), Benji

M.O.T.M: Joe – his best performance in a WWFC shirt.
