Woburn having played through the last 4 wins with several injuries were probably just a game off full strength today ready for “the Business End” of the season and started much the brighter of the sides with the Leighton keeper all that was between a hat-trick for Amy and the game remaining goalless, as it did. Woburn even experimented with some new formation’s today, so it might be interesting to see what the formation is in the next league game, as notes were being made. Chloe R was a good addition on 25 minutes and again on a different day, could have had a hatful. However the opening goal came on 35 minutes, an easy decision for the referee to award a penalty when Georgie was brought down by the keeper, which was calmly and professionally put away by Casey.

HT 1 – 0

A good start up the hill was needed, on 46 minutes Molly hit a unstoppable 25 yard shot 2-0. Then on 47 minutes Georgie succeeded in copying Molly with a 20 yard shot 3-0, hard to argue with that! Woburn were dominating. 11 minutes later in what can only be described as a goalmouth Melee, ball, defender and Carrie ended up in the net. Initially I wrote down Goalkeeper OG but Carrie claimed it with a nick off her knee – a well deserved goal from Carrie.

With 2 of Woburn’s regular defenders given a rest Leighton did grab a consolation penalty on 72 minutes. Upsetting for Micky who had spent all game stopping Leighton’s Star player from scoring, could not help Leanne in stopping the penalty. However Woburn pressed further in the last 18 minutes and could even have had another penalty after yet another scramble in the Leighton penalty area, not given on this occasion – it mattered not as a comfortable win maintained the good run.

Final score 4 – 1
