The Hurricanes continued their good recent form, delivering a performance containing plenty of fluid passing football and determination.

On a very cold November morning, the day began with a minutes silence in memory of all those who have died in conflicts to secure the freedoms we all enjoy today.

The first half was all about controlled Hurricanes pressure which just failed to deliver that final goal.  Dominating possession and with Joe having very little to do in goal, it was very much against the run of play when a defensive mix up gave Potterspury the opportunity to go ahead. Even so, the lads almost struck back immediately when a superb cross from Jake on the left was strongly headed towards the top corner by Cathal. It looked a certain goal, but somehow the Potterspury keeper tipped it round the post.

HT 0-1

The second half continued where the first half finished…. Hurricanes pressure , and  finally Cathal got the goal all our pressure deserved.  This was then followed by a great run into the box by Tom who was pushed off the ball.  Although, the penalty was saved, the resulting play ended up with a goal for Jake.

More pressure from the Hurricanes and this time a long range effort from Joe rifled through the air before bouncing and going over the Potterspury keeper and into the back of the net.  This should have been the time to close the game down, but all credit to Potterspury, they enjoyed their best spell of the match. Some good skill in the box brought the score back to 3-2, and with the minutes ticking away, another defensive error handed the visitors an unlikely point.

Definitely an exciting match, the boys again were congratulated by the oppostion coach for their excellent football. Progress certainly, and with better finishing and keeping it to basics at the back, we should see a good run of results ahead.
