Cyclones 2nd league game of the season against Sharnbrook fc who had a 4-0 win last week in there 1st league game.

Was a 1/2 hour drive to the game so we got the boys there early to get them moving about before the warm up.

For the first time I can remember we also had a kit clash so Sharnbrook were to play in bibs.

We started the first half which can only described as lacking energy and enthusiasm we looked like we still was in neutral and with the handbrake still on,Sharnbrook certainly were up for it after last week win.

We then perhaps got into 2nd or 3rd created some chances but went behind by a goal of our own mistake.

We equalised soon after which was fair because we didn’t deserve to be going into half time losing 1-0.

Half time 1-1,time to us coaches to turn this performance around.

All we did was ask the boys what was we doing wrong and they told us,so it was easy for us to just tell them pick up the energy play on the floor and our ability will prevail move the ball quickly they wouldn’t cope with us.

We changed formation which is something our boys now understand & is something we can do this season and we looked much better and caused them trouble.

Sharnbrook only seemed to cause us trouble when we made errors.

We certainly felt that if we got the 2nd we could get more, but we had to get it first and Sharnbrook certainly wouldn’t give up fighting.

Finally we got the 2nd goal and we then looked like we were going to score more,we seemed more confident and played much better but still not in top gear though.

Malik,Sam,Bailey and Aaron caused the Sharnbrook defence trouble with there ability and pace.

The Defence looked comfortable Charlie and Alex were strong in the middle and John and Alfie out wide Did well up and down the pitch.

We scored 2 more and had several other chances,Sam somehow didn’t score his And our 5th the ball seemed to roll along the whole goal even the home fans couldn’t believe it never went in.

So final score was 1-4 and the first league win for our boys.

We still need to improve,on another day we could have been 3 or 4 down and playing like we did in the first half today, but a wins a win !

Thank you to our hosts Today Sharnbrook and we wish them well for the rest of the season.
