As we welcome the return of grassroots football this week, we’ll also be starting our U6 Cub sessions, which is an opportunity for children currently in Year 1 to take part in fun training sessions that form our U7 teams for next season!

Although our teams were unable to take to the pitches this weekend to remember those that will never be forgotten, our members have still been able to display a Poppies4Kits proudly on their shirts at home so we can create our Wall of Remembrance 2020.

Lest we forget.

Shayen Patel had a tremendous influence on those around him with many of his friends and family reaching out to people he liked and supported (like KSI earlier this week – below) to share a message in memory of Shay.

Shay was a huge Chelsea Football Club supporter and with their summer signing of Ben Chilwell, who started his grassroots journey with Woburn & Wavendon FC, it felt fitting that we reached out to him and ask if he could send us a video to pass on to Shay’s family and friend after announcing his Chelsea FC shirt number as 21, the same number Shay wore every week!

This weekend (19th/20th) all of our WWFC teams alongs with teams playing in the Milton Keynes And District Development League and Bedfordshire Youth Saturday League will take the time to applaud before kick off in memory of Shay and Dean Mandabva, a Moretonville JFC who sadly passed away earlier this month after bravely battling cancer.

At such sad times, It’s amazing to see the influence and support the footballing community offers to each other.

A massive thank you to K.S.I for making Shayan’s wish come true and having him appear in one of his video’s as he was a huge fan having watched all his videos and seeing him perform live.
