27th September 2014
Forde End Rd, Queens Park Bedford

Bedford 0 The Clarets 6

Player of the match – Chloe Murray

Parents Player – Madison

Attendance – 10

The Clarets faced a potential banana skin as they travelled away to the ever improving Bedford Ladies, something that was evident in the first half as Bedford didn’t give The Clarets any space or time to play their passing game and caused problems for The Clarets particularly down the left flank and Bedford on another day may have got their noses in front! As it happened against the run of play The Clarets broke away and Maddison coolly finished from close range to give The Clarets an undeserved half time lead and for the 2nd league fixture running the girls were lucky to get away with a sluggish first half performance.

With Bedford struggling to keep their first half endeavours up The Clarets slowly started to take control with the brilliant Maddison picking the game up by the scruff of the neck from the centre of the park accompanied by the yet again outstanding Chloe’s with her tenacity and speed which seemed to rally the rest of the troops to a level Bedford couldn’t   live with and they blew them away with a mesmerising and clinical 2nd half showing.

First Zoe who has started the season in spell binding form rattled in the 2nd after some neat passing in midfield then an incredible move that typified the 2nd half performance with slick sharp one touch football ending up with a sublime one two between Ella B and Maddison finished beautifully by the latter hard and low into the bottom left hand corner, certainly an early contender for goal of the season!

With such brilliant football being played the 4th was route one with a long kick down field by Emily which Ella B latched onto and clinically finished majestically opening up her body and steering the ball into the top corner.

The 2nd half defensive performance marshalled fantastically by Lana remained rock solid with Ella S yet again showing how good she really is quietly going about her business without putting a foot wrong! With Alesha also showing how important she has become for the team with yet another formidable performance.

It wasn’t long before it was 5 with Georgia firing home a goal that was well and truly deserved for her tireless performance in the centre of the park.

The Clarets kept the tempo high particularly the brilliant Emily D and the powerhouse Lucie who showed no signs of their late night as they continued to terrorise Bedford and control the game.

There was still time for a 6th as Zoe who by now was all over the pitch hunting for the ball just to toy with Bedford smashed a shot from 20 yards that rattled the cross bar only for Ella “sniffer” B to follow up the rebound to round off a convincing win.

Another win and an astonishing 2nd half performance that was summed up by one of the Bedford parents who said to his daughter “you stayed with them for the 1st half but you really couldn’t have done much about the 2nd half that’s what we and other teams aspire to!”
