An away fixture, played at home on a frozen and bumpy Under 8 size pitch. 4 players unavailable. Not quite the norm, and the game was quite unusual too. The early exchanges were largely controlled by the Hurricanes, playing some smart and fast football. City Colts were also knocking the ball around nicely, and with such a small pitch, there was plenty of goalmouth activity.
An excellent first half was followed by almost the complete opposite from the lads. Midfield battles were lost, as we retreated into our own half. Maybe it was fatigue with only an 8 man squad, maybe we thought the job was done. Certainly we need to concentrate and play as a team. Defensively we were not at the races in the second half, and although all credit should go to City Colts for the pressure they exerted, in the end we had to rely upon some tremendous goal keeping from Archie. Well done to everyone though, because everyone made contributions to be proud of.
