Crawley Green – 2 The Clarets – 12 (Twelve)

Player of the match – Ella B

Managers Player – Ella S

Attendance – 6

The Clarets travelled to the old enemy Crawley Green on Saturday with 3 key players missing.

The side from the off looked balanced and strong with a midfield of Emily, Georgia, Ella S, and Lucie, they took control of the centre of the park and bossed the match from the first whistle!

Crawley Green rarely threatened but when they did the back 3 snubbed out any threat with Alesha winning everything that came her way and Madison showing her versatility with a faultless performance at the centre of defence this coupled with Chloe’s incredible tenacity and pace The Clarets looked in total control throughout superbly marshalled by Emily W from between the sticks!

Georgia in the Centre of the park was winning the battle against Crawley’s playmaker a battle that lasted all of 10 minutes before Georgia put her in her pocket and that was that Crawley’s creativity extinguished! With Ella S having a rare outing in midfield she didn’t let anyone down with endless energy she drove forward at every given opportunity and linked up fantastically with Ella B upfront.

The game was over by halftime as The Clarets thumped 6 past Crawley in the first 30 minutes with Ella B netting 4 thanks to 2 assists from Lucie who was unlucky not to score herself with 2 fantastic long range efforts that were followed in and finished off by Ella B, Madison finished off a smart move with a brilliant finish from the edge of the area, and Ella S grabbing the other deservedly finding the net after a brilliant first half performance.

The Clarets would have been forgiven for taking their foot off the gas but no if anything they looked even stronger in the 2nd half and their attacking display was relentless with Emily D as always putting in a perfect performance tearing Crawley to pieces with her exceptional drive and vision, and a mention must go to Lucie who was instrumental in ensuring the power in midfield was too much for Crawley to deal with.

The scoreboard resembled that of a cricket score as wave after wave of attacks were being clinically finished off by Ella B.

Georgia managed to grab a goal showing poise and power and driving home from the edge of the area, and Ella S rounded off the scoring somehow mustering up the energy to wrap her foot around the ball to ram in The Clarets 12th (twelve).

The smile on everyone’s faces was priceless at the final whistle in particular that of Ella B’s who had one of those games that she will remember forever scoring 8 (eight) in a sublime master class upfront.
