Harrold & Carlton Eagles

WWFC Lions - Hurricanes 2 3 Harrold & Carlton Eagles
1st October 2016
Wavendon Rec

Today was going always going to be a tough game for the Hurricanes as Harrold and Carlton were starting the game knowing they were top of our league and appeared super confident.

However, the Hurricanes started with a very positive attitude and seemed to be taking on board the comments from earlier in week about playing as a team!

The Hurricanes started putting the pressure on Harrold with two great attempts from Joe V who just couldn’t quite get the ball on target.

Both the Hurricanes and Harrold appeared to be travelling equally up and down the pitch with good attempts from both sides.

Omary particularly standing out with some fabulous defending.

Both Cameron and Harrison have a good go at goal but again nothing hitting the target.

About 20 mins into the game Harrold make an unfortunate break and score.

But the Hurricanes retaliate with some determined play and although 1-0 down they continue to dominate the game.

However, Harrold were just as determined and luck was on their side and produced a sneaky second goal.

Just before half time the Hurricanes produce their best play of the half and Dan manages to score.

The first half proves very entertaining and the Hurricanes pull it back and keep themselves in the game.

Score at half time Hurricanes 1- Harrold 2

Harrold start the second half very strongly with a shot at goal within the first minute!

But 10 minutes into the game there is some fabulous play from Jake who passes to Cathal who scores a great goal to even the game 2-2.

This puts the Hurricanes right back in the game and it looks like they could win!

Unfortunately Archie W goes off with a wrist injury and Archie F then takes goalkeeping duties.

It appears that although the Hurricanes are dominating the game Harrold to seem to effortlessly make a quick break and reap the rewards by scoring again.

The Hurricanes are straight back down the pitch but again their efforts don’t quite reach the target.

Harrold again put the pressure on but Archie F makes some great saves keeping the score 2-3.

It seemed as if the second half went on forever with both teams still passionately fighting it out.

The Hurricanes just not getting the luck they needed to equalise.

Unfortunately with just a second to go Dan goes through to tackle a Harrold player and gets a controversial yellow card!

On a positive note Harrolds manager does congratulate the Hurricanes on being the best team they have played so far in their league.

Final score Hurricanes 2 – Harrold 3
