A game that on paper you would have thought nothing other than a comfortable win was on the cards…but in reality Langford potentially could have come away with at least a point!

It was a pretty even first half with both keepers having little to do and it was left to the midfield to scrap it out in a thoroughly underwhelming 35 minutes of football.

The gulf in class between the 2 sides was rarely evident throughout the match but it surfaced just enough to see them through and The Clarets were ahead 5 minutes into the 2nd half when Ella B cleverly fed the ball to Lucie who fired home from the edge of the box and the 2nd followed shortly after as Ella B again played in Zoe who’s long range effort looped over the keeper.

With the game at 2-0 the masses expected The Clarets to start paying football and go on to a convincing victory however they seemed to retreat into their shells and invite Langford on who dually obliged and soon pulled a well-deserved goal back, and they continued to push for an equaliser for the remainder of the match as The Clarets struggled to take any real control.

If it hadn’t been for a solid defensive performance by Ella S Langford could quiet easily have gone on to share the points and the final whistle was greeted with a huge sigh of relief from all connected with the Clarets!

Although a sign of a great side that when they don’t play well they grind out a result! but they know they must do better with a top of the table clash looming at the weekend!
