A bone hard pitch, the only markings for a running track, and a cricket square ready for play. All the signs of a real ‘end of season match’. And that’s exactly what we got in the first half. Both sides created very little, and there was a general lethargy about our play. The game was crying out for some energy and drive.
The second half saw a much more determined performance from the boys, sensing that the game was there to be won. As it turned out, it was to take one of the best passing movements of the season combining Adie, Cathal and Josh to break the deadlock. A move that would have graced any match, and this was followed by more fluid movement and attacking play. The closing moments saw the boys withstand good pressure from Linslade, however an excellent display from everyone delivered a performance to be proud of.
