The boys signed off with their final fixture at Wavendon Rec. before the Christmas break. Another cold and windy day delivered a performance to warm us all.
An even first half saw a competitive battle with chances at both ends. Hurricanes’ main issue was getting passes to reach players. All too often we gave possession away cheaply, and this appeared to be our main area of concern. Sure enough, we suffered the consequences just before half time. The second period showed a much tighter and disciplined approach, with the whole team defending and attacking as a unit. On an increasingly heavy pitch, Moretonville were tiring and we were winning most of the battles in midfield and retaining possession. Still dangerous on the break, our opponents had their chances, but the boys stuck to their task well and still appeared to have the energy and drive to press on at the end. A special mention for Cameron…. or should I say Ronaldo. All in all a fair result. Ten out of ten again for spirit and determination. We still need to improve our passing, movement and recovery skills….. something we will address in training. Well done everyone.
