Comfortable with 11-a-side

With Wavendon Rec. still waterlogged and likely to be unplayable, the fixture was switched to Mursley.  On Saturday, it was not water but ice that was the main threat to the match. Mursley’s 9-a-side pitch was unplayable, however the larger 11-a-side pitch was available, and although a bit bumpy and with quite long grass, it did allow an even and exciting match to take place.  This was to be the Hurricane’s first taste of the 11-a-side game, and both sides made good use of the extra space.  We adopted a 4-3-3 formation, and the defence were particulary effective maintaining a good shape and beginning to understand and use the offside rule to our advantage.  We were also particularly effective on counter attack, with some crisp passing and movement. Plenty of shots at goal and fitness levels looked good too, so a very encouraging work out with particularly good performances from Daniel, George and Joe V.  Well done to everyone for what was a very good team performance.
