BLOWN AWAY… AGAIN !
After the chill and high winds at MK Wanderers a couple of weeks ago, it was even stronger winds (Hurricane force at times) plus a sloping pitch for this encounter. Whichever team won the toss and got the combined advantage of the slope & the wind first would be happy. Sadly, it was not the Hurricanes. Despite instructions to keep it simple in the first half, individual errors accounted for some crucial errors. A deficit was inevitable as we turned round at half time, but despite almost constant Hurricanes’ possession and pressure, we failed to test Potterspury’s keeper enough.
In all fairness, the opposition’s manager conceded that the game was a lottery. It would be interesting to play again under more normal conditions, however well done to the opposition who took their chances and mastered the conditions more effectively.
We now have a break from League matches, so by the time January is here, we should have plenty of time to work on passing, movement, possession and shooting.
