PERFORMANCE DESERVED MUCH MORE
Having seen Potterspury absorb pressure and then break out to successfully counter attack in their previous weeks’ match against the Whirlwinds, we knew what to expect. Sure enough, Hurricanes dominated most of the possession and looked to be in the ascendancy as the game progressed. The movement and passing throughout the team has been improving steadily, but finishing seems to be a sticking point at the moment. Shortly before half time a string of superb floated corners from George offered great opportunities for someone to get on the end of them. Similarly the second half again produced a series of attacking moves down the flanks (just what we have been trying to do) but we again failed to capitalise on the openings.
For the second week running we are left to consider how a good performance full of passing, movement and hard work does not always deliver a fair result. We are, however, developing the right blend and technique that will eventually deliver results over a much longer period.
