Narrow margins for Hurricanes
On a day when we finally said goodbye to summer, the Hurricanes did not really live up to our name. Our opening three matches were somewhat lacklustre. With 2 final games against teams we regularly loose to, the omens did not look good. All credit to the boys, they rolled up their sleeves in atrocious conditions, and duly dominated the game against Moretonville whilst not really threatening. Then the final match against Mursley. By this time, most of the other teams had gone home to thaw out, however another professional performance saw the boys secure the rewards they deserved.
The whole exercise again illustrated the same issue of slow starting. 10 minute games can be a lottery, however it has again shown us the areas to work on. Plenty of positives though, no more so than that gutsy never say die spirit which saw us finish the tournament on a positive note.
