TURNING THINGS AROUND

VICTORYIn 2011, our Hurricanes team played their very first match against Water Eaton. A 5-a-side U7 fixture in Bletchley, of the current squad George, Joe V and Jake may remember that we we took quite a hammering !  Half a decade on and things have certainly changed for the better. In all that time I don’t think I have ever seen the lads dominate possession so much and have nothing to show for it. That was the story of the first half as Water Eaton only managed to get the ball over the ‘blue’ halfway line on a couple of occasions near the end of the half.  In all fairness, they defended well getting bodies behind the ball, however despite all our possession we did not manage a single shot on target !

Things had to change, and the second half continued in much the same way. This time, however, shots were on target and the Water Eaton keeper was the busiest player on the pitch. But for one break away at the end of the game, Archie F was able to nurse his bad back with very quiet time in goal enjoying the winter sunshine !  Again plenty of players got good experience in a variety of positions, however we will need to be far more disciplined in keeping our shape for future games.  Well done everyone.
