At the beginning of the match, the girls showed great maturity and empathy by holding a minutes silence to pay their respects for those affected by the tragic events that had taken place in Paris the night before.

As soon as the whistle blew to start the match though, the Lionesses were back to business as usual and were putting the pressure on the Westoning goalkeeper with a number of shots from different players.

It didn’t take long for the girls to be awarded a corner which Neve put into the box and Nia took advantage of to score the first goal. Not long after, Nia had another shot which she put in the back of the net.

The lionesses’ third goal was beautifully placed into the bottom left corner by Maisie.

At half time the Woburn goal keeper was swapped, with Ophelia replacing Olivia between the posts.

The fourth goal came from a shot by Elizabeth that was on target, but was deflected by a Westoning defender, wrong-footing the goalkeeper.

Georgia had a number of great chances but just didn’t seem able to get a goal this week, despite her determination.

The final goal of the day came from another corner, this time taken by Millie, which Olivia got on the end of and found the back of the net.

Final score was 5-0 to the Lionesses and another strong performance from all the girls.

The team this week was Olivia, Georgia, Elizabeth, Maisie, Neve, Nia, Sacha, Ophelia, Sophie, Erin and Millie.
Georgia was awarded player of the match for the second week in a row.
