Willen Lions 2 1 WWFC Lions - Hurricanes
18th March 2016
Willen Pavilion Portland Drive Willen Milton Keynes Bucks MK15 9JP

Very windy conditions meant this was always going to play a big factor in the game. Hurricanes started the first half playing into the wind, and the advantage was very much with Willen. They were very determined and were obviously going to be hard to beat.

The Hurricanes responded well with good defending but after 10mins Willen’s determination paid off and scored.

Play continued with Willen dominating and the ball remaining in the Hurricanes half. Archie was being kept on his toes but also making some great saves!

The Hurricanes made some subs which did make some impact on the game and gave the Hurricanes a chance at goal.

Half – time score was 1-0 to Willen but would have been more without great efforts from Archie in goal!

The second half started quite differently and the wind was on the Hurricanes side! Joe B had a good effort at goal but unfortunately the ball went wide.

The Hurricanes were playing much better football and the ball was being played up and down the pitch. The Hurricanes managed to win a penalty which Joe V took but sadly it went wide 😔

The score remaining 1-0 to Willen.

More great play from the Hurricanes who managed to win a few corners. One corner was floated in by Dan but was headed away by Willen. Dan picked up the ball outside the box and managed to put a great ball into the box which Cathal scored from!

With a very determined Willen team the Hurricanes looked like they could hold them to a draw!

But Willen were on the attack now and were not going to be beaten. Archie made a magnificent tackle to save the ball from going in the net.

Unfortunately a few minutes later Willen were on the attack again and managed to score an unfortunate late winner make the final score 2-1 to Willen.

A very hard game but the Hurricanes responded well in second half showing good determination!
