SOLID AT THE BACK, DANGEROUS GOING FORWARD

Before the start of the match Wing Raiders, were sitting just above the Hurricanes in the League so the boys were very well matched !

The Hurricanes started off strong, dominating play and looking positive. An early chance from Cathal was saved by the keeper.

10 mins into the game Dan got the ball on left, cut inside and shot from 20 yards into the top corner of the goal – fantastic goal!

Wing seemed to get more into the game but Joe and Omary were quick to keep them out with great defending.

The Hurricanes still dominating the game with Archie F holding the ball well, laying off balls to Cathal who had another couple of chances.

Looked like it would be 2-0 ahead of half time as a Jake free kick was curling into the corner, only to be cleared off the line and away for a corner. Towards the end of the first half Wing looked slightly more dangerous, but Joe B made a couple of great saves making the score at half- time 1-0 to the Hurricanes.

The second half started with a great ball from Archie who put Harrison through but he hesitated and the keeper made a good save.

Not to be foiled twice, a few minutes later Harrison was through again and scored a great goal.

With the Hurricanes on top of the game, Wing made a couple of break away chances but Archie W kept them out with 2 brilliant saves.

Dan then took a corner but the ball rebounded back to him and he managed to dribble the ball in to the box and hit a cracking shot which hit the post and bounced in off the keeper – another amazing goal !

After this the boys passed the ball around with real confidence, and Archie F produced two great through balls to Dan who sadly missed both chances and didn’t get his hat trick.

A thoroughly satisfying performance, particularly as the team again maintained shape and discipline to the end.  A few tired legs at the end, fitness will be key for a successful run-in to the season.

The final score, 3-0 to the Hurricanes with a brilliant performance from the whole team.
