Our first league match of the year was played in blustery, cold conditions against a newly formed Wingrave Wasps. A great start saw us almost score within 10 seconds but a great save from their goalie denied us. This was to be the first of many attacks and great saves.

Once again we played our better football as we settled into the game. Movement and supporting angles continue to improve. It’s good to see some unselfish play where passes are made to players in better positions.

There were some great strikes on goal and the pleasure on everyone’s faces was lovely to see. We close teams down much better and build attacks from the back too. This is huge progress.

Something to think about – play in your position as much as possible so that we don’t get outnumbered when we lose the ball.

Well done to Finley who was our ‘Player of the match’. He showed some great control, turns and quality passing. His corner kicks were top quality too. Nice one Fin!
