WWFC Hurricanes 0 0 Winslow United Pumas

League game

A lot closer than the result would suggest – I feel there were periods in the game where the boys dominated play, especially in the first two quarters. However, in periods where we didn’t we were punished heavily by the Winslow team.

There are plenty of learnings to take into training and work on – these include, revisiting the goalkeeping rules, looking at what to do when out of possession – in particular goal protection and emergency defending. As I mentioned, I have asked the club to help us recruit a goalkeeper so please let me know if you know anyone who is interested. In the meantime,  I would like to continue with all the boys taking a session in goal so we will work on this more in training.

We did well to keep our heads up throughout the game, which was a real improvement on last week’s match. There was some excellent interplay between the boys and some well taken goals.

Training on Wednesday is at usual time and our final rescheduled game against City Colts is now a home match on Saturday – kick off 9.30.

Well done to this week’s MOTM Ethan.
