After the adventures on plastic back home to grass this week. Firstly worth noting our visitors were struggling with availability today, but all credit to them for wanting to play the game. Secondly the sign of a good referee having a good game should be that he is barely noticeable.  Both teams made it easy today, with few fouls etc but we did had a very good up and coming referee.

Molly opened the scoring on 5 minutes, keen in her rivalry with her sister Alice I imagine, as to who has the most goals. 5 minutes later and goal number 3 of the season for Grace. The play was all Woburn’s and on 24 minutes, great play from Chloe R, put Rosie in to make it 3-0. 11 minutes later, a left foot effort from Chloe R herself, gave Woburn a fourth, even this early in the game it looked to have secured a victory. Any doubt definitely vanished as Millie, then Rosie made it 6-0 before half time.

The introduction of Zoe after a few weeks out, showed what a good player she is, by winning the ball in midfield, riding through 2 challenges and blasting the ball, nearly breaking the goal post! 3 minutes later Molly got the seventh, as the girls were encouraged by Pat to try and shoot only from outside the 18 yard box. Egged on by this, Chloe A decided 25 yards out, to launch a shot over a tall goalkeeper to make it 8-0.

Georgie worked tirelessly up front as she was man marked throughout the game, which created space for her team mates to score. Although not too many saves today, it was nice to see Leanne amongst 3 girls passing fitness tests this week, so only Jemma on the injured list now but she still made it to the bench today albeit with some help!

Onwards then to a cup semi-final.
