MK Dons Girls 2 6 WWFC Lions - Hurricanes
22nd October 2016

Controlled performance

The Dons Girls and the Hurricanes started the game level pegging in the league so it was going to be a tight game between these two sides with everything to play for. The match was played

The morning also started with great news for the Hurricanes – Harrison had made the quickest recovery ever and was fit to play!!

Today the game was going to be played in three 20 minute thirds, and on the 3g surface at Leon in Bletchley, a surface that certainly suited both sides passing abilities.

Immediately the game started with the Hurricanes in charge with a great shot from Cameron saved by the Girls’ goalkeeper.

Within 10 mins Cathal scored a great goal in the top corner and got the Hurricanes off to a good start.

But the Girls showed their determination and retaliated straight away to score an equaliser.

The Hurricanes kept the pressure on and with a great run from Freddy, he managed to score to make it 1-2.

Although the Hurricanes were in front, the Girls played some lovely football and did not seem put off by the score.

With about 3 mins before the end of the first third, Kaleeq found the back of the net and the score after the first 20 mins was MK Dons Girls 1 – 3 Hurricanes.

Within the first few minutes of the second third, Cathal scored his second goal of the match to make the score 1-4.

But again the girls pull it back and score their second goal.

It’s quite even play from both sides and the Girls produced some nice passing with a good attitude and team spirit.

Again just before the end of the second third, Cathal just managed to roll the ball into the net to score his hat- trick and the score is 2-5.

In the last third of the game the game the Girls stay positive and Joe B makes two great saves.

With the ball back in the Hurricanes possession Dan just missed a great shot which hit the post and Harrison also had a good go at the target.

There is continuous pressure from the Hurricanes and Cameron scores from a pin point free kick in off the near post to make the final score 2-6 to the Hurricanes.

It was a great win for the Hurricanes but credit also to the Girls. The final score didn’t reflect the Girls great team play and determination they proved very strong both mentally and phsyically.

Great win for the boys!!
