Winter finally arrived with the unusual experience of an away fixture. A new opponent and venue for the Hurricanes, so a trip to nearby Kents Hill was a bit of an unknown quantity. Before kick off, it was quite apparent that despite welcome sunshine, the arctic winds driving from one end of the pitch to the other would play a big part in the match. One player ‘frozen to the marrow’ & another twisting his ankle in the warm up did not bode well, and although the Hurricanes enjoyed the strong wind behind them in the first half, we failed to adapt or take advantage of the conditions. There were chances in the first half, but we failed to get our shots away. In truth, MK Wanderers was far more up for it than we were and in the end that made the difference. An injury to Adie (GK) did not help, although Billy was an excellent stand in keeper. With a couple more League games to complete, our season hangs in the balance. The boys are very capable of giving anyone a run for their money….. discipline & attitude will make the difference as we head into December.
