GOOD PERFORMANCE MEANS WE ARE SET TO IMPROVE
Early frost and snow made this 9.30 KO doubtful, however conditions improved and we saw a highly competitive match that the boys contributed well to. In fact our overall possession, movement and control was good, dominating our opponents for large chunks of the match. What we failed to do was to turn this dominance into goals. There were plenty of chances, however our finishing was again below par. Similarly we conceded some avoidable goals, however the overall balance and spirit of the team was good again. In the last few games we have experimented with players in different positions. Undoubtedly this has caused some key decision making on the pitch to be slow at times. In the long run, we have given ourselves more options from which to establish a more stable line up where players know their roles and can slot in better.
Daniel sustained a nasty muscle strain whilst stretching for the ball towards the end of the match. Hopefully this mends quickly, however it again demonstrates the importance of warming up properly now the boys are getting older. They are now at an age where muscle strains and pulls can become a real issue.
Well done to all. Although the result did not go our way, the performance was far better than the previous week when we did get a good result !
