Sunday saw our 2023 tournaments come to a close as we dismantled the setup having delivered our Lions weekend for mixed teams. The weather was slightly cooler, but the enthusiasm made up for it as we welcomed over 140 teams from U7s to U14s to take part in our tournament with a slightly different format to previous years allowing teams to enjoy more competitive matches. A fantastic weekend with football played in the right way as pitches were surrounded by enthusiastic and supportive spectators! We would like to thank all teams that took part and made it a hugely successful weekend for grassroots football! 🙏🏼
As we conclude our McDonald’s Super Sixes tournaments, we’d just like to say thank you to:
⚽️ McDonalds and Abbey New Homes for sponsoring the tournaments.
⚽️ Our referees for overseeing the matches.
⚽️ The thousands of players taking part
⚽️ The coaches/managers for choosing to enter our tournaments.
⚽️ The thousands of spectators attending over the two weekends
⚽️ Our army of volunteers for making it happen.
⚽️ And Woburn Parish Council for allowing us to continue delivering it in Woburn.
We appreciate how important tournaments are to the players, not just for the football, but for the time they get to spend socialising with their team and families, which is why we pride ourselves on ensuring our ethos of ‘fun, football and friendship’ is evident throughout our tournaments. Whilst the positive atmosphere is created by the players, coaches, parents, and spectators, we are only able to enjoy it due to our amazing volunteers who offer their time to help facilitate and deliver it on the days, whether it is road control or parking duties, litter picking or raffle selling, we’d like to thank the hundreds of club volunteers that made it possible! 🙏🏼
If anyone would like to share feedback with us, good or constructive, we’d welcome your comments if you could complete our online form https://bit.ly/WWFCTournamentFeedback
Once again, thank you to all that helped make our tournaments the most enjoyable to date! 🙏🏼⚽️🦁🏆
