Congratulations to our U15 Hurricanes who secured their Divisional Title.
Going in to the last game of the season they needed a win to secure the league, a 4-1 victory over Ampthill Town F.C got them over the line.
Coach Gary Towers said “It’s an amazing achievement from the team in their very first season. We started the team around this time last year, and had just five or six players at our first training session, every week we would get another one come along to training, and by the end of June we had just about enough, to be confident of forming a team, so we entered a team in the league.
Many of the players came from other local clubs, they had in general been pigeon holed, or not given enough opportunities to showcase their talents, a fresh approach with new ideas has helped them massively. At the start of the season our aim was just to make progress in every training session and in every game, but mostly to enjoy our football. The team gelled really well and have improved both individually, and as a group over the course of the season. In November three players were offered the opportunity to join Luton Town FC, centre of excellence.
To win their division is a testament to their hard work, individual talents and team ethic, we also have the luxury of a cup final to look forward too next week”
